Why learn Swahili anyway?

A lot of people may ask, why learn Swahili in the first place when you could learn French, Spanish, or other more “useful” languages?

Swahili is a growing language. Actually, it’s one of the largest in the word, with over 220 million speakers and growing. Not just that, but it’s incredibly practical if you’re traveling in Kenya or Tanzania. At the very least, you’ll endear yourself to locals as you learn the langauge. For English speakers, it’s one of the most accessible languages out there as well, and you don’t need to have much of a language learning background to get started. These things make Swahili a good gateway into the world of language learning.
